A Day in My Shoes

So…what had happened was…because every good story starts like that!  Lol.  My car has almost 160,000 miles on it, but it is still in decent shape and it has been paid off for over 2 years now, so I am not planning to get a new one any time soon.  There has been some extra road noise lately, but I figured my tires were just wearing unevenly or something.  Last night the sound got really loud though, and I did not feel safe driving it.  My tires are not new but not old, and I think they are in decent shape, so I really felt like my problem was a bad bearing.  (The front right wheel felt like it was moving sideways and could fall off any minute.)  I took my car into the shop before they even opened this morning, told them I thought it was a bearing, and one of the older gentlemen who work there drove me home about an hour later.  They had my car all day, called to say the repairs were going to be in the ballpark of $1500 because I basically needed a whole new suspension.  I reluctantly agreed and figured I would put it on my credit card and let future Mandy deal with it because  the car did not feel safe to drive.  I did not hear from them again all day and they close at 6.  I called at 6:15 to ask when my car would be done and they said shortly, so I got my friend’s son to drive me to the shop.  The general manager test drove the car, and low and behold…their repairs did not fix the problem.  Apparently the EXACT bearing I said that I thought went bad was the major problem.  Nope…..you can’t make this stuff up.  I left my car there for them to replace that bearing tomorrow and the general manager gave me a ride home JUST NOW...at 8pm.  I am getting to know the whole crew at the shop rather well.

So now I am at home and I have no vehicle.  As in, I am completely stuck at home and cannot go anywhere.  I need a husband.  Anyone volunteering?

Is Russia Really THAT Bad?

The daily attacks on Donald Trump are not necessarily unfounded, but when it comes to Russia, are they completely deserved?  He does say and do some ridiculous things and he doesn’t apologize for his alternative facts when they are disproven.  However, when it comes to his stance on Russia, I don’t necessarily understand the opposing view to Trump’s. It seems the fact that he refuses to intentionally offend Russia-as most other people in the media and in the American government are known to do-catapults him further as a target for criticism from all directions, but why?  Isn’t it better to keep your friends close, and enemies closer?  If Big, Bad Russia is THAT bad, it makes sense to me to stay on good terms with them.  Is the country THAT bad or is it a lot of propaganda?  Is this really just a power struggle between two strong, dominating countries?  I will find all of that out and more for next show “Is Russia Really THAT Bad?”.  Join me Tuesday, February 14, to discuss the country of the Red Army on the day the price of red roses mysteriously climbs to astronomical heights every year.

Trump Makes Me Laugh

Donald Trump’s first two weeks of presidency has been like no other weeks in the history of our country.  There have been protests over his presidency, chaos because of his executive orders, some of the least understood choices for his cabinet choices leading to cabinet confirmation hearings filled with enraged senators, involving family members in his decision making, and banning immigrants from 7 primarily Muslim countries.  Houses are divided, friends are removing friendships from social media, arguments break out in places as never seen before, and it seems the overall feeling of our country, if not the world, is a feeling of being baffled and in fear.

Trump is our President

Donald Trump is now the President of the United States of America.  I NEVER thought I would have to make that statement, but whether we like it or not, he has been sworn in and is leading our country...in some kind of direction.  But in what direction will he take us?  I think that is on the minds of at least half of the country.

I'm outta here!

I am taking a break from my shows, work, and America soon!  I have postponed my next show until January 31 and I am headed to South Africa for vacation at the end of December.  I THINK I will come back to the U.S.  My return flight is mid-January, but we shall see!  Muahahaha!
