A Day in My Shoes

So…what had happened was…because every good story starts like that!  Lol.  My car has almost 160,000 miles on it, but it is still in decent shape and it has been paid off for over 2 years now, so I am not planning to get a new one any time soon.  There has been some extra road noise lately, but I figured my tires were just wearing unevenly or something.  Last night the sound got really loud though, and I did not feel safe driving it.  My tires are not new but not old, and I think they are in decent shape, so I really felt like my problem was a bad bearing.  (The front right wheel felt like it was moving sideways and could fall off any minute.)  I took my car into the shop before they even opened this morning, told them I thought it was a bearing, and one of the older gentlemen who work there drove me home about an hour later.  They had my car all day, called to say the repairs were going to be in the ballpark of $1500 because I basically needed a whole new suspension.  I reluctantly agreed and figured I would put it on my credit card and let future Mandy deal with it because  the car did not feel safe to drive.  I did not hear from them again all day and they close at 6.  I called at 6:15 to ask when my car would be done and they said shortly, so I got my friend’s son to drive me to the shop.  The general manager test drove the car, and low and behold…their repairs did not fix the problem.  Apparently the EXACT bearing I said that I thought went bad was the major problem.  Nope…..you can’t make this stuff up.  I left my car there for them to replace that bearing tomorrow and the general manager gave me a ride home JUST NOW...at 8pm.  I am getting to know the whole crew at the shop rather well.

So now I am at home and I have no vehicle.  As in, I am completely stuck at home and cannot go anywhere.  I need a husband.  Anyone volunteering?
